SHA-0 is a retronym applied to the original version of the 160-bit hash function published in 1993 under the name ‘SHA’. It was withdrawn shortly after publication due to an undisclosed ‘significant flaw’ and replaced by the slightly revised version SHA-1. The message digest algorithm consists, by default, of 80 rounds. SHA0 lives in the Hashing category of the fx menu.

Run SHA0

SHA-0 is a retronym applied to the original version of the 160-bit hash function published in 1993 under the name ‘SHA’. Adjust optional parameters when the defaults do not match your payload.

  1. Set Input to the value to transform (previous step output or a literal).

  2. Review Rounds and keep defaults unless your format requires otherwise.

  3. Confirm Output value shows the transformed result.
