MD4
The MD4 (Message-Digest 4) algorithm is a cryptographic hash function developed by Ronald Rivest in 1990. The digest length is 128 bits. The algorithm has influenced later designs, such as the MD5, SHA-1 and RIPEMD algorithms. The security of MD4 has been severely compromised. MD4 lives in the Hashing category of the fx menu.
Parameter
Section titled “Parameter”Input is the primary value (previous step output or a literal).
Returned value
Section titled “Returned value”Limitations
Section titled “Limitations”- This operation treats Input as raw bytes (binary-capable). Non-text payloads may display differently after decoding.
- Wrong key, algorithm options, or malformed input typically raises an evaluation error — fix Input or options before re-running.
Example
Section titled “Example”Run MD4
The MD4 (Message-Digest 4) algorithm is a cryptographic hash function developed by Ronald Rivest in 1990. Adjust optional parameters when the defaults do not match your payload.
-
Set Input to the value to transform (previous step output or a literal).
-
Confirm Output value shows the transformed result.
