Fletcher-64 Checksum
The Fletcher checksum is an algorithm for computing a position-dependent checksum devised by John Gould Fletcher at Lawrence Livermore Labs in the late 1970s. The objective of the Fletcher checksum was to provide error-detection properties approaching those of a cyclic redundancy check but with the lower computational effort associated with summation techniques. Fletcher-64 Checksum lives in the Hashing category of the fx menu.
Parameter
Section titled “Parameter”Input is the primary value (previous step output or a literal).
Returned value
Section titled “Returned value”Limitations
Section titled “Limitations”- This operation treats Input as raw bytes (binary-capable). Non-text payloads may display differently after decoding.
- Wrong key, algorithm options, or malformed input typically raises an evaluation error — fix Input or options before re-running.
Example
Section titled “Example”Run Fletcher-64 Checksum
The Fletcher checksum is an algorithm for computing a position-dependent checksum devised by John Gould Fletcher at Lawrence Livermore Labs in the late 1970s. Adjust optional parameters when the defaults do not match your payload.
-
Set Input to the value to transform (previous step output or a literal).
-
Confirm Output value shows the transformed result.
