# Hashing

Functions in the **Hashing** category of the Studio `fx` menu compute digests and checksums for integrity checks,
forensics, and password hashing.

Start with the digests you use most often:

- [SHA2](./sha2/) — SHA-2 family hashes (commonly SHA-256).
- [SHA1](./sha1/) / [MD5](./md5/) — widely used fingerprints (legacy for security, still common for IOCs).
- [HMAC](./hmac/) — keyed message authentication code.
- [Generate all hashes](./generate-all-hashes/) — compute many digests and checksums at once.

Common password and fuzzy hashing:

- [Bcrypt](./bcrypt/) / [Bcrypt compare](./bcrypt-compare/) — hash and verify passwords.
- [SSDEEP](./ssdeep/) / [Compare SSDEEP hashes](./compare-ssdeep-hashes/) — fuzzy similarity for related files.
- [CRC-32 Checksum](./crc-32-checksum/) — fast error-detecting checksum.
