# Unescape Unicode Characters

Converts unicode-escaped character notation back into raw characters. Supports the prefixes:`\u``%u``U+`e.g. `\u03c3\u03bf\u03c5` becomes `σου`. Unescape Unicode Characters lives in the **Data format** category of the `fx` menu.

## Parameters

| Parameter | Type   | Required | Default | Description                                            |

| Input     | string | yes      | —       | Value to transform. Previous step output or a literal. |
| Prefix    | string | no       | `\u`    | Choose one of: `\u`, `%u`, `U+`.                       |

`Input` is the primary value (previous step output or a literal).

## Returned value
