# From Octal

Converts an octal byte string back into its raw value. For example, `316 223 316 265 316 271 316 254 40 317 203 316 277 317 205` becomes the UTF-8 encoded string `Γειά σου`. From Octal lives in the **Data format** category of the `fx` menu.

## Example

<details>
<summary>Run From Octal</summary>

Converts an octal byte string back into its raw value. Adjust optional parameters when the defaults do not match your payload.

1. Set **Input** to the value to transform. Paste:

   ```text title="Input"
   316 223 316 265 316 271 316 254 40 317 203 316 277 317 205
   ```

2. Review **Delimiter** and keep defaults unless your format requires otherwise.

3. Confirm **Output value** matches the expected result (for example `the UTF-8 encoded string Γειά σου`).
