# JWT Decode

Decodes a JSON Web Token **without** checking whether the provided secret / private key is valid. Use 'JWT Verify' to check if the signature is valid as well. JWT Decode lives in the **Cryptography** category of the `fx` menu. See [JSON Web Token (JWT)](https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc7519) for format details.

| --------- | ------ | -------- | ------- | ------------------------------------------------------ |
| Input     | string | yes      | —       | Value to transform. Previous step output or a literal. |

`Input` is the primary value (previous step output or a literal).

## Returned value

## Limitations

- Wrong key, algorithm options, or malformed input typically raises an evaluation error — fix Input or options before re-running.

## Example

<details>
<summary>Run JWT Decode</summary>
