Claude Sonnet 4.5, launched by Anthropic in September 2025, represents a significant leap in AI capabilities for coding, reasoning, and agentic workflows. It delivers strong performance gains on benchmarks like SWE-bench Verified and OSWorld, enabling it to stay focused for over 30 hours on complex, multi-step tasks.

For enterprises, Anthropic emphasizes that this is their "most aligned frontier model" yet, with improved safety, reduced misalignment (such as less deception and power-seeking behavior), and rollout under their AI Safety Level 3 framework.

### Retry on failure 🔄

This update introduces automatic retry functionality for failed steps.

You can now configure how many times a step should retry after failure. Retries run with exponential backoff, increasing wait times between each attempt. Each retry is logged as a separate audit event for full traceability.

### Enhanced data pill editor and controls 💊

We've redesigned data pills to provide a better experience.

With this new version, you can:

- Spot the source of the pill more easily—an animation highlights the step source
- Update the pill's data source
- Change the **Required** option
